[Photo: PSCU]President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid has been boosted after well-wishers raised funds for his campaigns.Business community in Laikipia County on Saturday night raised close to Sh1.5 million in aid of Uhuru's campaigns ahead of the repeat election set for October 26.Led by John Mwaniki, who is also area Deputy Governor, the leaders vowed to conduct aggressive campaigns to ensure the President retains power."The money will enable campaign teams traverse the county with ease," Mwaniki said, speaking in Nyahururu Town.The fundraiser was attended by businesspeople, politicians and elders, who all pledged to ensure a big voter turnout in the area perceived as Jubilee stronghold."By going to every place in Laikipia, we will ensure the more than 38,000 residents who failed to cast their ballots in August 8 do so," Mwaniki added.On Saturday, Uhuru begun marathon campaigns in 17 counties ahead of the repeat poll.He toured Murang'a, Kiambu, Nyeri and Laikipia counties over the weekend.
