Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi held a meeting with a delegation from the Kays Foundation that paid a courtesy call at his office.
The Kays Foundation is an established, UK-based charity that partners with organisations in Kenya to improve long-term outcomes for young people.
The Foundation offers grants and aid to support Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
The Tuesday meeting saw them deliberate on possible areas of partnerships with the Foundation in enhancing the quality of Education offered in county ECDE centres.
"Our hope is to give the best education to our children as they grow up and create an environment that shall mould them into responsible adults, with such grants we believe that we shall create a quality environment of care and education for our children," said the DG.
"We hope that this new friendship with the Kays Foundation shall also help us build more capacity to deliver the best care and education to our children through training of our ECDE teachers and as well in the construction of more ECDE centres in order to make early childhood care and education accessible to all our children."
Kingi further indicated that the county government of Mombasa remains open to any partnership of this nature aimed at promoting education as a fundamental need for children.
