Outspoken Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has endorsed Bomet governor Isaac Ruto for re-election during the next general elections.

Speaking on Friday in Bomet, Sossion lauded the governor's track record as county chief, adding that Ruto has been on the forefront championing for the teachers' interests.

"He is among the few governors who have stood by us as a union in our time of need," Sossion stated.

He further called for the installation of Governor Ruto as the Kipsigis spokesperson, arguing that the county chief has fought for people's rights.

"Anyone who wants to engage us should pass through him. We recognise him. The rest are brokers," he said.

Ruto is facing stiff competition from National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and former Konoin MP Julius Kones both who are gunning for the Jubilee Party ticket.
