Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has received another major boost after Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) approved three more candidates he had nominated to his cabinet.Agriculture CeC Hassan Mwamtoa, his Devolution counterpart Seth Odongo, and Trade CeC Fawz Ali were approved after going through a vetting process conducted by the Mombasa County Assembly.The County Assembly said it was impressed with the qualifications and abilities of the three, following the vetting process which was conducted on Monday.Salim Juma, the secretary of the Committee on Appointments, Rules, and Procedures, said they have informed the appointing committee about the vetting of the trio as they wait for further communication from the county boss.“It is up to them to set the swearing-in date,” said Juma, as quoted by The Star.Mombasa County Communications Director Richard Chacha said the three are expected to take their oaths of office in three weeks’ time. Mwamtoa, who was former governor candidate Hezron Awiti’s running mate, had been accused of being Joho’s spy in the run-up to the August 8 polls.Six Mombasa CeCs took the oath of office on November 6 at the Treasury Square.Water CeC Fatma Awale who was absent during the first inauguration ceremony is expected to be sworn in alongside the three newly approved nominees.
