Kariobangi Sharks FC goalkeeper John Oyemba has ended speculation on his future after penning a new three-year deal with the Kenya Premier League side.
Oyemba, whose contract with the club expired last year has been widely linked with a move away from Sharks.
He rose to become a key player for Kariobangi, helping the newly promoted club finish third in the topflight football.
He was also integral in the club's Gotv Shield campaign, where Sharks lost to AFC Leopards in the finals.
Last season, Oyemba managed a total of 16 clean sheets in 29 appearances, an accomplishment that saw him bag the prestigious Golden Glove at the 2017 SJAK inaugural Awards.
He was also nominated in the same category for KPL awards earlier in the month but lost the accolade to Posta Rangers shot-stopper Patrick Matasi.
His new contract with Sharks will see him extend his stay at the club for six years.
Speaking shortly after signing the deal, Oyemba stated that he was happy to commit his future at the club.
“I am glad to extend my stay at sharks and I am praying and hoping for even better achievements with the team in this new season," he said.
