Kenya Meat Commission will in the next few months start supplying Egyptian Defense Forces with 50,000 cattle meat monthly,” says the commission’s board chairman Kores Teraya.
Teraya addressed the press at the KMC Athi River Plant’s ground on Friday shortly after hosting Egyptian’s Defense Attaché’ Officer, ST Colonel Mostafa Abd El-kader.
“The officer came from the Egyptian Embassy to see the plant and assess quality, processes, hygiene and capacity and find out if they can buy meat and meat products from us,” said Teraya.
Teraya said the commission had been for a long period of time in consistent business communication with the Egyptian Army as concerning the tender.
“We have been having meetings with officers from the Egyptian Army for the last six months, the foreign forces will need 50,000 cattle meat per month,” said Teraya.
Teraya said that was a huge market and KMC would supply it once it is done with technical audit.
“We are almost through with technical audit of the company,” said Teraya.
He said the products which the company will supply the Egyptian Army with once they sign the tender included corn beef, fresh meat and the cut.
Teraya expressed confidence that KMC will manage to effectively supply the new market asserting that once modernized the new state of art machinery will increase production volumes in each single day.
He said the company operates 24 hours.
