Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka called Interior CS Fred Matiangi and lauded him over the war on contraband goods in the country.
“I actually called Dr. Matiangi yesterday, I haven’t called him for long so I think its something to do with this handshakes, to encourage him because if you do not know how government work, the minister for interior cannot just open his mouth just like that,” said Kalonzo.
The Wiper Leader said dubious business people have killed local industries by importing cheap and harmful products which flood the Kenyan market.
Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama also hailed Matiang'i and told off those who are politicizing the war on contraband goods.
"We all need to stand with Matiang'i as he is fighting this war for Kenyans. We want to tell the CS that we are fully behind you," Arama said.
The crackdowm on illegal products saw Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs) Managing Director Charles Ongwae and nine other officials suspected of being behind the influx of contraband goods in the country arrested by detectives.
Matiang’I has pledged to confront all the cartels head on to ensure there are no poisonous goods in the country.
