Musila, who fell out with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the run up to last year’s general election, argues that Governor Mutua could be the 'savior' in Ukambani.

Speaking to the residents at Kyome village in Mwingi  Town on Tuesday, Musila said Mutua has the qualities to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Musila said the governor's development agenda and ideologies could be what the country needs to realize its social, political and economic development.

“Governor Mutua has the qualities of a leader and as such he will go far in regards to his 2022 presidential dreams,” Musila said.

The former Wiper Party chairman  said Ukambani needs a leader who will rally for development and unite the people.

Musila said the locals had been politically misled, misadvised and misused for along time by certain leaders to achieve their own political interests.

The former ally of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta during the October 26, repeat poll said it was time the region detached itself from the opposition.

Musila said the opposition had done nothing for the Kamba community for many years it had been receiving their votes.

Governor Mutua has declared interest in the presidential seat in 2022.

The Machakos Governor says that he is the right person to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta and advance the country’s interests.

Mutua, whose re-election as the Machakos governor was upheld last week will face off with Deputy President William Ruto, NASA deputy leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and others who have declared their interests in the presidential seat in 2022.
