Opposition coalition NASA can now rest easy after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) gave them an opportunity to set a parallel vote tallying center but on one condition.

The move by NASA to set its own tallying center, because they doubted IEBC credibility had gained momentum after the coalition luminaries Raila  Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka pushed for its creation during NASA public rallies.

The move was, however, opposed by both the government and IEBC through State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu and the electoral commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati. Other who opposed it include former Gichugu MP Martha Karua and Parliament Majority leader Aden Duale.

But, on Thursday the IEBC allowed NASA and the Media to monitor the polls but only IEBC will announce the results as per the law.

NASA and IEBC have reportedly agreed after a meeting on Thursday.
