Salim Lone, a former advisor to Raila Odinga when he was Prime Minister, is returning home to join National Super Alliance campaigns.
He is expected in the country on Wednesday (Today) and will take charge of the team’s strategic communication and advisory roles.
Before being appointed as advisor to Mr Odinga, Lone served as ODM Director of Communication prior to 2007 polls, a position which has since been taken by Philip Etale.
“This is very crucial elections in our country because if Jubilee party is reelected it will spell trouble for our country,” he told Daily Nation on phone.
His return comes barely a week after Odinga, who is trying his forth stab at presidency appointed a 15- member campaign team that is headed by Musalia Mudavadi.
In the team, the former Vice President is deputized by outspoken Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama who had quit from local politics by deciding not to defend his seat.
Also under the campaign, Odinga has segmented his team into several departments which mainly operates in Nairobi.
