ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid has received a major boost after two parties under the National Super Alliance endorsed his candidature.

Odinga, who has had three unsuccessful attempts for presidency, will have to battle out for Nasa ticket which has also attracted interests of Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi.

But on Thursday, KNC leader Manson Nyamweya said his party will support Nasa with Odinga as its preferred candidate.

“KNC fully supports NASA particularly with the leadership of Odinga. He is widely accepted nationally and his candidature is a boost,” Nyamweya told the Daily Nation online.

Nyamweya, currently South Mugirango MP is vying for Kisii County governorship and will face Odinga’s favourite, James Ongwae.

Citizen Convention Party Leader Grace Akumu, who is vying for Kisumu Women Representative seat, also supported Odinga’s bid.

“We all need Nasa but it will be very easy for us if Odinga is the flag bearer. His experience in politics will be a plus for us,” she said.

Nasa formed a joint technical committee that is set to guide its principals on how to choose its presidential candidate.
