Kisii Governor James Ongwae has received another boost after former Nyaribari Masaba MP Hezron Manduku endorsed his reelection bid.

Ongwae, a staunch supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga, has been fighting a political resistance from Jubilee allied politicians.

And just weeks after endorsement from former education minister Sam Ongeri, Manduku said he was ‘satisfied’ with Ongwae ‘development record.

“Devolution is a new concept and I think Ongwae has tried his best to distribute equally resources to all corners of the county,” Manduku said.

He added: “Those opposing him are doing it out of hatred and selfish interests. This is the time we need to retain him to solidify devolution concept.”

The Kisii county boss is facing fierce competition from his friend come critic Chris Obure, who is expected to carry Jubilee ticket.

Manduku, a medic by profession, lost to Sam Ongeri in 2007 polls and has been out of active politics for quite a while.
