Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga's candidature has been handed a major boost, following a resolution by independent candidates drawn from Homa Bay County to back his bid during the forthcoming polls.
Led by Kasipul Kabondo MP Silvance Osele, the candidates, most of who lost the ODM Party ticket during the primaries noted that they will be drumming up support for Mr Odinga, despite losing during nominations unfairly.
“Even if we had won the party nominations and were rigged out, we would still have stood with Raila,” he said.
“The fact that I was edged out from ODM is not reason to vote against Raila. I have nothing sinister or personal against Raila and will not oppose him even in a micro minute at any rally any day,” he added.
Osele was trounced by Dr. Eve Obara during the primaries, prompting him to vie as an independent candidate.
