Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has supported residents in their bid to acquire 32,000 acre piece of land at Konza.
The land was initially reserved for livestock research but the residents claimed that they were illegally evicted from the land.
The lawmaker addressing constituents on Saturday in the land near the proposed Konza Technology accused the government of having ill plans against the people in the area.
“We are demanding that the land be made a residential area for the Konza Technocity and the land be subdivided among the locals equally,” he stated.
The MP said it is time for historical land injustices to end not only in the region but also across the country.
He urged locals not to change their minds in their bid to acquire the land saying the government won’t succeed in intimidating them.
