Deputy President William Ruto has been assured of the Luhya community vote ahead of his 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking during an interdenominational prayer service held at Uasin Gishu county on Sunday, Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke said that the Western region is ready to fully support Ruto's bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"The Luhya community is in full support of your bid and will wholly back you when the time comes.
"We are known to keep our promises and since we have promised you our support, you can count on it,"
His sentiments were echoed by Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka who noted that the Luhya leaders will rally the community behind the DP when the time comes.
Also present were other leaders allied to the ruling Jubilee Party, all of whom endorsed Ruto's candidature, with area Governor Jackson Mandago predicting that the deputy president will garner 100 percent of all the votes cast in counties under the Jubilee rule.
"You can rest assured that all Jubilee-allied counties are fully behind you," said Mandago.
Ruto is expected to vie for the position on the Jubilee Party ticket.
