Nandi Senator Stephen Sang's gubernatorial bid has been handed a major boost following endorsements by two senators, the Standard has reported.

Speaking in Kapsisiywa, Nandi on Monday, the senators Amos Wako (Busia) and Jubilee Nominated Senator Fatuma Dullo argued that Sang is the best suited candidate to unseat the incumbent governor Cleophas Lagat who is seeking re-election.

They further observed that Sang was one of the best performing senators in the Senate, imploring Nandi residents to vote him as Governor during the August polls.

"At the Senate and across the country Sang is recognized as the best performing Senator and I want to ask you to givehim another term but this time as your governor," Senator Dullo stated.

"Sang has been my Vice Chair in the legal affairs committee and having been in politics for long I have given him a few lessons on politics and I can confidently say he is ready for the top county job," Senator Wako said.

Sang is set to face off with governor Lagat, former Agricultural Cabinet Secretary Felix Koskei and former Cabinet Minister Henry Kosgey.

The four are the leading candidates for Nandi's top seat and are gunning for the Jubilee Party ticket.
