The County Government of Nakuru has pledged full support for sports activities in the county.
According to the County Governor, Lee Kinyanjui, his leadership is out to ensure that all sports participants, in the county, succeed and reach their preferred heights.
Speaking after he flagged off the Nakuru Rally 2018 at the Nakuru Athletics Club Saturday, the county chief further hailed the county residents for their continued support for such events.
''Nakuru County will continue to support sports activities,'' said Kinyanjui.
''I am proud that safari rally events continue to attract fans, especially in the County. I flagged off the Nakuru Rally 2018 early this morning at the Nakuru Athletics Club,'' added the county boss.
This year's edition has attracted an impressive number of participants, with some of the biggest names in the history of the game in Kenya participating.
These include veteran drivers Carl 'Flash' Tundo and Ian Duncan who will be in action against the younger generation.
The rally is held under the Rift Valley Motorsport Club with drivers covering a total of 367 kilometers out of which 150 will be competitive.
23.36 kilometers distance will be on open roads, while 124 km will be on private land.
