The Jubilee Party brigade in Kilifi County has divided the presidential campaign team in three clusters to ensure they deliver more votes to President Uhuru Kenyatta in the repeat presidential polls set for October 26.The three teams will be headed by former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro, Mining CS Dan Kazungu and former Labor CS Kazungu Kambi.Out of the seven constituencies in the county, Mining CS Dan Kazungu will spearhead Jubilee campaigns in Magarini and Malindi.Kambi on the other hand shall be in charge of Kaloleni, Rabai and Ganze while Mung’aro shall be coordinating Kilifi North and Kilifi South. The resolution was reached after a strategy meeting held among the top Jubilee Party leadership in the county with a view to have properly structured campaigns. Kazungu has already established his campaign team from Malindi and Magarini which targets to deliver 150,000 votes for Uhuru. The CS said his Malindi and Magarini team will focus their campaigns in the grassroots level. The team is made up of politicians who participated in the August polls, friendly political parties, opinion leaders, religious leaders, youth and women.Dr Phillip Chula, a scholar, will be coordinating the two constituencies alongside Kazungu, while Edward Karani shall be coordinating campaigns in Malindi Constituency.“I am coordinating Malindi and Magarini I came to meet the leaders who will lead campaigns for Uhuru,” he said.Speaking after the meeting held in Malindi Town, Kazungu urged residents to re-elect Uhuru, arguing that he has the interests of Coast people at heart.“If we play isolation politics we shall be affected, those who championed for ODM and told people to vote six-piece in Kilifi are now stuck,” said Kambi. He said Kilifi overwhelmingly voted for ODM but did not get a single nomination to Parliament.“For Kingi it’s a shame after many years of fighting he has not been made a principal neither has his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho yet people like Isaac Ruto and Peter Munya who did not deliver were made principals,” he said.Kazungu said NASA does not value Coast residents and urged them to turn up in large numbers to vote for Uhuru on October 26.“We want to deliver 155,000 votes in Malindi and Magarini. We shall not be left behind, many things have been done by the Jubilee government,” he said.In the August 8 elections NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga got 273,852 votes against Uhuru’s 49,693.
