President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaigns ahead of the repeat elections have received a boost after losers in the August 8 polls decided to throw their weight behind him.

The politicians have teamed up and are now marshalling forces to ensure the president emerges victorious in the October 17 polls.

The group revealed that their coming together was made important by the need to lay fresh strategy for an Uhuru win.

"We want to take over this campaign now that the Jubilee Party-elected members have gone into slumber mode after winning their respective seats," said senate race loser Wambugu Nyamu.

The team is headed by Thuo Mathenge who contested for the governor seat before withdrawing and giving support to his immediate former governor Samuel Wamathai.
