Women politicians in Uasin Gishu County have vowed to campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta for him to retain his seat.
They said they will mobilise women to turn up in large numbers to vote for him during the October 26 presidential election.
"This time round it is not job as usual. We want to show the opposition leaders that President Kenyatta won the August 8 elections," said Uasin Gishu County Senator Margaret Kamar in Eldoret town, Sunday.
"We want him to get 100 percent votes from the county. We will move door to door to ensure that everyone dances to our tune,” added Uasin Gishu woman representative Gladys Boss Shollei.
They, however, called upon politicians to campaign peacefully putting in mind that we only have one Kenya if we destroy it we are done.
"Let us not campaign using utterances that might trigger violence. We are all Kenyans despite our political and tribal affiliations,” added Senator Margaret Kamar.
"In case violence erupts it's we women and children who suffer the most since we cannot defend ourselves. We should maintain peace before, during and after elections," noted Shollei.
