Sports and Culture cabinet secretary Hassan Wario and her Foreign Affairs counterpart Amina Mohammed got a major boost in their hopes to be retained in their respective positions after residents from Isiolo and Marsbit counties intensified their lobbying for the same.

According to Mr. Omar Godana who is a Gabra elder, the two counties overwhelmingly voted for the ruling Jubilee party during the August and October presidential elections and the only way to reciprocate the gesture is through the retention of the two leaders in the cabinet.

The elder who was also flanked by Borana, Sakuye and other Gabra elders heaped praises on Mr. Wario saying that he had ensured the construction of a modern stadium in Marsabit town while Mohammed had campaigned vigorously for the country to host major global conferences.

There have been massive lobbying by individuals interested in being part of president Uhuru Kenyatta cabinet after he was re-elected for a second term.

In his campaigns, Uhuru was categorical that no government in the country's history has been accommodative to residents from the Northern Kenya region than his and pointed out to the likes of National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale as among some of the beneficiaries.

The elders were speaking in Marsabit town on Monday.
