( Photo/the-star.co.ke)Deputy Governor Hussein Abdullahi’s has said that he will back the candidature of Wiper candidate Yussuf Issa in the forthcoming general elections.
The decision to back Issa came after he met elders , women and youth from Samawadhal and Ahulian clans.
The Deputy Governor also confirmed that they had held several meetings before they reached the agreement as political re-alignments continue to take shape ahead of the upcoming general elections.
“He will have the full support of the two communities,” Abdullahi said, as quoted by Star.
He also took a swipe at the Telamuge Alliance that has united the Abduwak and the Samawadhal clans, arguing that it wants to exclude other communities from taking part in the leadership of this nation, which he termed as unacceptable.
“It is only working for the interest of a few people. We are against it, because we believe that it is politics of exclusion,” Abdullahi said.
His remarks were backed by Samawadhal community chairman Mohamed Salah who also rubbished the existence of the alliance, adding that all members of the community are entitled to leadership.
“The county belongs to all of us. Let us not be cheated by a few individuals, who only want to ascend to leadership positions by forming tribal alliances,” he said.
