The judiciary on Wednesday ordered the members of parliament to pass the two- thirds gender rule in the August house in the next 60 days.
The ruling was passed by High Court judge, Justice John Mativo who said by failing to pass the bill, parliament had failed in its obligation.
"MPs had vowed to protect the constitution, this a breach, there is a total failure by parliament to perform its constitutional mandate," said Mativo.
Despite guidelines and deadlines parliament has failed to pass the law required," he added.
The ruling by Mativo come in as a boost for women leader who recently complained of being sidelined in the patriarchal Kenyan political scene.
