President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign has received a considerable boost after elders from the Bukusu community in western Kenya threw their weight behind him.
The Bukusu Council of Elders on Monday said they will back President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection by mobilising voters so that they can 'reclaim' the win which was taken away by the Supreme Court.
Through their chairman Richard Walukano, the elders who had assemble at the State House said the Bukusu community has immensely benefitted from projects that have been implemented by Uhuru.
They promised to conduct door-to-door campaigns in Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia, Busia and Kakamega.
“We are keen on ensuring that President Kenyatta wins with a bigger margin because we do not want the projects in our region to be derailed,” Walukano said.
This comes after the Akamba elders were at the State House a day before to show their support.
