Boda boda operators in Nakuru County have been advised to form Saccos in order to boost their capital base.

Governor Kinuthia Mbugua made the rallying call, advising the operators that they stand to expand greatly financially if they embraced Saccos. 

"My administration is pushing for formation of Saccos to help mobilise resources for empowering women,youth and disabled groups among others to help improve their socio-economic welfare," Mbugua said on Friday. 

He added that the county assembly is deliberating on a Bill on Sacco development to establish a fund for supporting Saccos.

 The governor made the remarks when he attended a funds drive in aid of the Nakuru Central Rift Boda boda Sacco at Afraha stadium.
