Suspended Agricultural Cooperation of Kenya Chairman Patrick Osero has said that he will sponsor bright and needy students both from secondary and university levels from Borabu till they complete their studies.
Speaking on Sunday at Borabu Primary School during a fundraiser, Osero who is also a senior politician asked needy students from the region to submit application to his Nyansiongo offices for consideration.
Osero challenged Gusii politicians to invest in education to equip future generation with skills that can help them survive in the ever competitive job market.
“Education is very essential to our people and that is why I am taking it seriously. I would like to ask needy students or their guardians who are here to apply for scholarships and submit their applications in my office. I urge my fellow politicians from the region to invest in education and talents nurturing to put our future generations at a correct status,” said Osero.
He also announced revival of a football tourney from the region that saw a couple of players rising up to the national centre sate like Dennis Mosoti, formerly with Gor Mahia FC and now at Tanga FC in Tanzania.
“Osero Cup is here to stay and I ask all clubs that used to participate to register for the tournament to kick off this August. I will support it because I know how a group of footballers have been identified and eventually succeeded from the tournament,” said Osero.
