Speaking at Mekenene on Monday during a consultative meeting occasioned by the alleged discrimination, the angry residents accused Hon. Ben Momanyi of ignoring the former Borabu region and instead concentrating on his constituents from Mugirango side of the constituency.

They said efforts to have the issue addressed by the legislator have always hit the snug because the MP is said to have either dismissed or dishonored the calls.

“Our children are not receiving bursaries from the CDF kitty and we suspect they are being discriminated. We can substantiate that only students from Mugirango side of the constituency benefits,” said Pius Mokoru.

“The honorable member has always dishonored our calls to meet him despite the spirited efforts by our seniors. It is therefore difficult to deal with him and that is why we are looking for alternatives,” added Mr. Jackson Onsomu.

They gave the legislator an ultimatum of two weeks to address the issue before they resolve to peaceful demonstrations and subsequent demand for auditing by the Auditor General.

“He has two weeks to look into our issue and help us solve the situations amicably failure to which we will take into streets and demand auditing by the government. Equity must be applied every time,” Mr. Onsomu added.
