Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has been accused of failing to deliver on matters education with at least 200 students from institutions of higher learning reportedly failing to secure bursaries in the financial year 2014/15.

Speaking on Tuesday at Nyansiongo trading centre, aspiring MP Dr Nyandoro Kambi said the incumbent had failed to manage the kitty to the expectations of the residents and threatened to lead a demonstration against the Wiper legislator.

Kambi said Momanyi had completely forgotten the road network in the region, besides failing to manage the education system.

“Many of our students have failed to secure bursaries despite applying for them and the trend is really worrying. The MP has completely failed us and that is even evident through the state of roads in the constituency. We are ready to show him the power of people,” he said.

According to Kambi, Momanyi had given the settlement scheme region a wide berth despite the region voting overwhelmingly for him.

“When you get that kind of the job, you work for everyone despite of his or her political affiliation. However, we have seen children from the settlement scheme ignored in bursary allocation. This habit ought to stop. Many students were denied the bursary and the MP has failed to explain the circumstances,” he added.

Momanyi had dismissed the allegations over the weekend at Magura region during a fundraiser where he termed his challengers as ‘empty vessels’ who he was ready to face and vanquish them in the 2017 polls.
