Residents of Borabu in Nyamira County have told off critics who are claiming that Interior Cs Fred Matiang'i is a tenant residing in Nyamira County.
The locals said Matiang'i was born in Nyamira and those spreading propaganda should take time to get the background of Matiang'i's family.
"Matiang'i was born in Nyamira County. It is sad for some people including politicians from Nyamira County to start misleading people that Matiang'i is a Kisii County," said James Orenge.
Orenge added that Matiang'i should focus on streamlining the security sector which has been a problem for a long time.
"The country has been facing challenges of insecurity. Matiang'i should give a deaf ear to critics to work and eliminate terrorists such as Al Shaabab," he said.
Another resident Jacob Aragwa urged CS Matiang'i to order for more police post in Nyamira especially Borabu region where cattle rustling has been on the rise in the recent days.
"What we need is Matiang'i to work and improve security in the country as he did when he served as the education Cabinet secretary."
