A group of professionals from Borabu sub-county held an impromptu meeting on Sunday to discuss mounting pressure from parents of Gesebei primary who want the school head to be sacked by TSC for allegedly defiling a female pupil.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com, Mr Antony Abuga, a manager with DTB who lead six other people to reconcile the two parties, convinced parents to drop the accusation against Alloys Tumbo after parents failed to give substantial evidence.
They asked parents to investigate critical issues like defilement before making it public besides asking the school head also to give the institution’s parents room to air their grievances.
“We have dealt with the issue from the professional point of view. Parents failed to substantiate the allegations but we later discovered that is was a management issue since the parent of the girl who was allegedly defiled was a former PTA member,” Mr Abuga said.
“Before parents come with such critical issues, they must be sure of what they are saying otherwise the matter may escalate and damage the reputation of the school. I call upon the headmaster to also ensure that he listens to them whenever there is a management crisis," added Mr James Manani.
According to the professionals, some parents wanted to use the defilement issue to kick the school head out after failing to award a contract of building school toilets.
“It wasn’t a defilement case and parents have admitted that. We have also convinced the school head to drop the issue. It was a tendering issue which we want sorted out for the purpose of unity,” Mr Abuga said.
