Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has donated Sh500,000 for the construction of Borangi SDA Secondary school.

Represented by the Chief Officer in the Ministry of Education David Kebiro early today, Wednesday, he issued the cheque to Borangi SDA Secondary School in Nyacheki for the construction of a girl's dormitory.

In the same event, area MCA Peter Nyaega thanked the Governor for keeping the promise he had made earlier to residents of the area, and said the construction is ongoing and will be complete because the funds are now enough.

“The school is being built and we look forward the contractor awarded the project to end it on time because now the funds are enough, we also appreciate the county governor for giving the school a great boost and for always supporting education in the county,” said Nyaega

Kebiro, who presented the cheque to the Chairman of the School Management, thanked the teachers for their commitment to the school and encouraged students to work hard so as to realize good results.

“The county’s education level should always be on top and we would like to see the school perform better because it has the support from the county government,” added Kebiro.

The school currently has one dormitory, and the number of students is growing and the second dorm project will be of great importance.
