Two senior politicians from Gusii land believe embattled Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has become of ‘age’ to dictate the in the swing region’s politics.
Bosire has been on the spot recently after he defied President Uhuru Kenyatta’s orders to stand in honour of soldiers who had died earlier this year in Somalia, leading to withdrawal of his security details before they were reinstated through a court order.
Speaking separately to the reporter on Wednesday, Former Kitutu Masaba MP Abuya Abuya and Winfred Ombui, formerly North Mugirango/ Borabu hailed the legislator a ‘true voice of Abagusii’ and vowed to support his quest to fight on behalf of Abagusii.
“Honestly, I think Bosire has come of age to conquer Gusii politics. He is eloquent and consistent when articulating the agenda of Omogusii. He deserves to be given that honour and I am ready to support him,” Abuya said.
“Despite being in opposition, he has always fought for good governance and questioned underdevelopment in our region. He speaks his mind and hates sycophancy and that makes him a dependable leader,” Abuya added.
Ombui on his part likened Bosire to former Kitutu Masaba MP George Anyona and challenged other elected leaders from Gusii to emulate him.
“He is an Anyona to us whether we like it or not. He has shown that he is a true voice of Omogusii and my prayer is that he conquers this region and helps the community to have a bargaining power,” Ombui said.
The Gusii region has never had a community political kingpin ever since former powerful minister Simon Nyachae who contested for presidency in 2002 bowed out of politics in 2007.
