Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has yet again attacked Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama, accusing him of the slow pace of the construction of county roads.
The relationship between the two politicians has been hot and cold in recent days with the Bosire accusing Nyagarama that his administration was tolerating corruption.
Speaking at Rigoma ward on Wednesday, Bosire questioned the slow progress insisting that he was being ‘sacrificed’ by area residents over roads that fall under the jurisdiction of the county government.”
“I am being sacrificed for not doing roads which directly fall under the mandate of the county government. I have done my part and the Governor should wake up and do his part too to avoid confusion,” he said.
“The county government has never updated people on the progress of roads and this is detrimental to all other leaders. He should expeditiously open roads that belong to his jurisdiction for the sake of transparency,” he added.
However, in an exclusive interview with this reporter, County Secretary Erick Onchana defended the performance of the county government saying most the roads were under construction after years of battling with contractors.
“We have been fighting with contractors over the shoddy job and that is why we had to invite the Mechanical Trust Fund. We are doing roads in all wards and eventually all regions will be served,” he said.
