Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has thrown his support behind Cord Leader Raila Odinga following remarks about ICC he reportedly made during an interview with a French media house.
Odinga faulted International Criminal Court’s procedure in handling cases that saw all Kenyans facing crimes against humanity vindicated, a remark that has drawn scathing criticism from Jubilee team under the stewardship of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
However, Bosire on Thursday said the former Premier had a right to give a post analysis on the way ICC handled cases of great concerns.
“I think the Jubilee side is trying to politicize a light matter. The Premier has a right as a Pan Africanist to give his insight about the manner in which ICC handled the cases of grave concern,” Bosire told the reporter.
“he didn’t mean that DP William Ruto or someone else should have been jailed. He only questioned the procedures and cited witness intimidation hence giving the court a challenge on how to improve its image,” he added.
He faulted President Kenyatta’s scathing attack on the former Premier and warned Jubilee against capitalising on a mere statement to seek political mileage.
“The President must understand that Odinga never fixed anyone because throughout the case, the fixers of DP were exposed. It’s wrong to try scoring politically on a trivial issue like that. We must respect the statesmanship of Odinga in the world,” he added.
