Timothy Bosire says President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party should be prepared for a ‘convincing’ defeat in August from Gusii region.

For two days in a row, Kenyatta traversed the vote rich region in pursuit of over 800,000 votes despite the area being perceived an opposition zone.

“This is a serious battle and if he is not ready to let it go, he should be prepared for a convincing defeat,” said the Kitutu Masaba MP during a press conference on Wednesday.

Bosire added: “He has given Gusii people a raw deal and he continues unleashing incentives that do not add up. He should be a bit careful because if won’t be easy as he thinks.”

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has unveiled Bosire as campaign manager in Gusii region and he is set to work with Kisii governor James Ongwae.

In 2013, Odinga managed to scoop over 70 percent of votes from the region but the recent infiltration by the government could tilt voting patterns in August.

On Wednesday, Uhuru said he was confident that the community will back his reelection, attributing his confidence to ‘incredible’ transformation in the region.
