Outspoken Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has hinted a truce on the ongoing stalemate surrounding IEBC officials saying MPs attending the meeting are ‘open and flexible’.
At least 45 MPs selected from both the ruling coalition Jubilee and Cord are said to be in a closed door meeting to discuss the crisis that has engulfed the electoral commission leading to countrywide protests staged by the opposition.
Bosire who posted on Nyamira County ODM Whatsap group termed the discussions as ‘progressive’ and maintained that all sides were reading from the same ‘script’.
“I want to assure all Cord supporters that we are meeting currently with our opponents to discuss the IEBC standoff. Everyone is open and flexible and I see a solution on this matter,” read the statement.
“Our discussions are ongoing and I can see progress. We must all hope for the best because Kenya belongs to all of us and a small matter cannot make us go crazy against each other. This is a crisis that we can solve without animosity against each other,” he added.
Though Bosire didn’t disclose how the MPs were approaching the crisis but he did hint that a ‘landmark’ decision will be reached at.
“This is all about the future of our elections and all of us want to see credible polls. We are going to have a landmark decision over the same because as MPs, we are guided by integrity,” said Bosire.
