Road contractors working in different parts of Kitutu Masaba have a month to comply with their contractual agreement or risk having their contracts revoked, area MP Timothy Bosire has said.
This comes after mounting criticism from electorates along the Esani-Mosobeti, Omoyo-Machuririati and Rigoma-Sirate road over delayed construction.
However, Bosire, who spoke to this reporter on phone warned contractors and gave them a month to complete the work.
“I am aware of the roads in question and I am really disappointed with the manner in which the contractors are working. While a number of roads have been worked on, it goes without question that some contractors have taken unnecessarily longer,” he said.
“They have a month to complete all the roads in question or risk having their contracts revoked. I like urgency and they know how I work,” added the ODM MP.
Bosire also challenged the county government of Nyamira to repair a number of feeder roads which he said were under its jurisdictions.
“I must admit that as leadership, we have to make our roads passable because we are an agricultural county and that is why my regime is determined to well,” Bosire added.
“However, the county government has also delayed in fixing a number of feeder roads which are under its jurisdiction making residents blame me over the same. Every leader should do his or her work as provided in the law,” he said.
