Bomachoge-Borabu MP Joel Onyancha has been accused of misleading the Gusii community over the remarks he made about supporting the Jubilee government.
Onyancha reportedly threatened to force the community vote for Jubilee in case they are not ready to buy the idea of supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.
But in a quick rejoinder, Kitutu Masaba MP on Thursday slammed his colleague as ‘myopic’ and insisted that the community was fully behind opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“It's really unfortunate that a whole parliamentarian can threaten to force everybody to support the Jubilee government. Onyancha’s statement was unfortunate and myopic. He can't impose his thoughts on free people and must apologise for demeaning the community,” he said on the phone.
“The community has undergone torture during this Jubilee era and he knows we cannot support this government. This is an opposition stronghold and it remains so because we are forming the government in 2017,” added Bosire.
The ODM national Treasurer also said: “there is a notion that if you can't support the government, no development will take place. That is untrue because it's the National Parliament which approves all government expenditures so nobody can claim that you must support the government for work to be done.”
