Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire believes fair distribution of bursaries, schools infrastructural development and improved road networks achieved since he was elected in 2013 will grant his a second chance to serve his people.
Bosire beat political protagonist and former MP Walter Nyambati and perennial contestant Shadrack Mose in a hotly contested 2013 polls.
Speaking to the writer on Wednesday, Bosire said his administration had restored order and accountability in management of CDF kitty, a contrast to previous regimes.
“Kitutu Masaba people were yearning for accountability and transparency in management of CDF kitty. My administration has managed to restore accountability to the kitty and now people are witnessing progress,” he said.
“I am pretty sure that people of Bogetutu will give me a second term because our children are receiving bursaries without discrimination, many schools have been refurbished and a number of roads have been improved making many regions accessible,” Bosire added.
He slammed his opponents for allegedly propagating clanism politics to local residents and challenged area community to shun politicians who were out to incite them against other clans.
“When I took over, our constituency had been divided along clans by previous regimes. I have managed to integrate our people by serving them equally regardless of where they come from. I would like to challenge my opponents to campaign on development platform and not on the basis of clans. We must rebuke those trying to divide us along clans,” he said.
According to Bosire, who also doubles as ODM National treasurer, many regions in the constituency had been connected to power under his leadership.
“I do not see any excuse which my opponents will use to campaign against me. Many homes are now connected to electricity because of my cordial relationship with Rural Electrification team. I am confident that Kitutu Masaba people have seen my work and they will trust me with leadership again,” he said.
Bosire is expected to face fierce contest from Nairobi lawyer Shadrack Mose and philanthropist Victor Swanya in 2017 polls.
