Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has dismissed speculations that the opposition coalition, Cord, is on the verge of collapsing, insisting that the team was intact and would defeat the Jubilee Party in the 2017 elections.

Bosire's remarks follow a crisis in the coalition with ODM Raila Odinga's co-principals Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka accusing their ODM partners of short-changing them, and each demanding that they are endorsed for the presidency.

And on Friday during campaigns in Nyacheki ward, Bosire assured residents that the coalition was intact and urged them to vote for it to ‘rescue’ the country’s economy.

“I have been hearing our friends from the Jubilee saying Cord is no more. That is a white lie because we are strong and here to stay. I am pretty sure that Jubilee, as constituted, cannot beat us,” he said.

Bosire added: “Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and even Moses Wetangula are always in charge. It's just panic from the Jubilee government that is trying to create mistrust and I assure you that can’t happen. Just be ready to rescue our country’s economy by voting the government out.”

Bosire was accompanied by Dagorreti North MP Simba Arati and Kisii County woman representative Mary Otara who drummed support for ODM candidate Naphtali Onkoba ahead of the  October 26 by-election.
