Timothy Bosire, who sometimes back defied President Uhuru Kenyatta in parliament, will lead NASA campaigns in vote rich Gusii region.

Both Jubilee and NASA brigade is keen to take control of the region which predominantly voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga in 2013.

Initially, the NASA team had tasked Kisii Governor James Ongwae to take control only to change heart in final minutes in a move seen to be a strategy to bring Gusii community together.

Last year, Bosire led a protest in parliament when the president asked MPs to honour soldiers who had died in Somalia only to emerge that Bosire was unhappy with the government’s scheme to compensate bereaved families.

Months later, the outspoken Kitutu Masaba MP who also doubles as ODM national treasurer would find himself behind bars over alleged hate speech.

Barely a fortnight after Odinga toured the region, President Uhuru Kenyatta embarked on a two days tour to Gusii region in search for votes.

While Odinga will be banking on Bosire to deliver, Kenyatta has lined up veteran politician Chris Obure as his main points man.
