Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has termed his predecessor Walter Nyambati as a ‘tired tire’ as the old rivalry between the two successful politicians from Nyamira County deepens.

Mr Nyambati, the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation chairman, recently dismissed Bosire’s homecoming ceremony as a waste of time that was well-orchestrated to redeem his image after a ‘dismal track record’.

And on Monday, Bosire laughed off the claims saying Mr Nyambati had nothing to offer to the people of Nyamira, and warned him against interfering with his leadership at the constituency level.

“I am shocked that this tired tire is persistently criticising me in everything I do. I was elected by the people of Bogetutu and they haven’t questioned my homecoming ceremony. He lost an election to me and cannot compare my track record with his,” said Bosire, a member of the Pangani Six.

“He is persistently interfering with my leadership even after declaring interest in the gubernatorial seat. If he can’t respect me, then he should be prepared for a bigger war. I am not a coward and I can’t lose the Kitutu Masaba seat as he thinks,” added Bosire.

He defended the homecoming ceremony saying it was part of the Orange Democratic Movement strategy to rally for peace and push for social-economic reforms in the country.

“The homecoming ceremony wasn’t just a show of political might. We had to do it because ODM wants a peaceful Kenya and also, we have to communicate our frustrations in the derailed social-economic reforms by the Jubilee government,” he said.
