Bosire had sued the duo accusing them of illegally withdrawing his bodyguards contrary to the law, following his decision to defy President Uhuru Kenyatta’s request to stand in honour soldiers who had died in Somalia, a move that sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans.

Speaking to this writer on Tuesday, the ODM MP who also doubles as the party’s National Treasurer lauded the court for the temporary reprieve and vowed to protect the interests of his constituents.

“I want to thank the court for giving the people of Bogetutu justice because I represent them. I am entitled to security details because they pay taxes and as their leader, I am entitled to protection,” said the jovial MP.

“I cannot succumb top state intimidation because the law is every clear. Our courts are independent and I had to seek justice. The government must wake up and accommodate divergent opinions because we are in a democratic country. I once again thank the court,” he said.

Bosire said he had nothing ‘personal’ with President Uhuru Kenyatta and blamed the president’s advisors on the ‘miscommunication’.

“I know that the President had nothing to do with the withdrawal of my security, and that must have been an ill advice from his incompetent advisors,” he said.

“I have nothing personal with him and I forgive him if he intended to punish me as a result of miscommunication. My opinion as MP must be respected,” he said.
