In a heated Facebook exchanges, residents of Nyamira County have come to the defense of embattled Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire who was among MPs detained without bail over alleged ethnic incitements.

In the official Nyamira Politics Facebook account, residents demanded an immediate release of Bosire saying he was a ‘victim’ of circumstances.

“When I critically look at what is happening, I think Cord legislators are unfairly detained because they were merely responding to Mr Kuria’s statements. Arresting our own Bosire is an insult to Abagusii community and he should be released unconditionally,” said Dennis Onyiego.

“I am personally disappointed by the conduct of this government. The right people to be arrested are well known and it’s my wish that Bosire and the company will be released unconditionally,” added Mr Vincent Omao.

Another user David Nyaribo caused another heated debate when he threatened to sponsor 100 virgins to urinate in the streets of Nyamira as a sign of protest.

“The government must respect civil rights of opposition and their followers. There is nothing wrong when MPs raises questions about conduct of their colleagues with respect to incitement then they get arrested. I will mobilise 100 virgins to urinate in Nyamira as a show of solidarity with Bosire,” he said.
