A woman who has been working as a house help is crying for help after her boss impregnated and sacked her.
Vivian Kerubo said her boss Mr Orioki sacked her immediately after she revealed to him that she was pregnant.
“Orioki has been sleeping with me when his wife is away. I felt ill and visited Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital where I was tested and the doctor found that I was 2 months pregnant. I returned home and informed my boss who threatened to kill me if I tell his wife,” she said.
Kerubo further claimed that her boss lied to her that they were vacating the house so she should go home and come back in one week.
“Last Thursday, he told me to go on holiday and return back after one week. I just returned to work on Thursday only to find a new househelp in the house. His wife told me that she was instructed that I should pick my belongings and leave the house,” she added.
Kisii Central OCPD Francis Nguli confirmed the incident and said the matter is being investigated.
“The girl reported the matter to police and we have summoned the man to appear in the office on Monday. We will get into the root of the matter and ensure the girl gets justice. She was sacked without her 2 months salary,” said the OCPD.
