The 15-year-old boy had embarked on an expedition at Lake Naivasha and as he got into one of the boats collapsed.

According to resident Peter Wafula, the boy, described as bright, loved nature and was on a bird watching mission when fate befell him.

“He just did his KCPE in one of the primary schools in the area and this is a loss not only to the family but to the community at large,” Wafula said.

Naivasha assistant County Commissioner John Opondo confirmed the incident .

“We do not know whether he had been sick or what led to his imminent collapse and only a post mortem examination would help in knowing exactly what happened,” said Opondo.
