A boy in Mumias has committed suicide just a week after completing his KCPE examinations.
Jacob Ouma's body was discovered Friday morning dangling on a rope in his parents' house at Shibale.
The 18-year-old attended DEB Mumias Muslim Primary School.
Prior to being found dead, he had been missing for a few hours.
According to the Star, he never had a problem with parents while at school but soon developed differences with them upon completing school.
Police found a suicide note in which he said he decided to take his life due to wrangles in his family.
"It’s a sad day...this is unfortunate...young people should seek counselling when they have such problems," said Mumias police boss Peter Kattam while confirming the incident.
His body was taken to St Mary's Hospital Mortuary.
