A 15 year Old KCPE candidate died on Sunday night after he was bitten by a snake in Kabala Village Nyando Sub County within Kisumu County.
The deceased, Kennedy Odhiambo, who sat for his examinations at Nyamkebe Primary School and awaiting his results was allegedly bitten by the snake on Friday while grazing their cows.
Odhiambo scored a total of scored 235 marks in the results released on Monday as the schools head teacher George Ambuso described him as a dedicated and obedient boy.
According to Florence Adhiambo, his sister who is in form three, Odhiambo came home complaining of being bitten by something while he was out grazing the cows.
She said Odhiambo was taken to a herbalist who gave him some medicine after which he vomited to get rid of the poison.
Adhiambo said the deceased was taken to hospital on Saturday and later discharged but on Sunday his condition deteriorated and was pronounced dead on arrival at Avenue Hospital in Kisumu.
The body was later transferred to Alpha Hospital morgue.
