Residents of Nyosia village in Nyaribari Chache were left in rude shock after a boy committed suicide over his family's poor living conditions.
The body of Kaisa Okari aged 14 was discovered in his bedroom on Wednesday morning by his parents.
Residents who responded to the news asked in low tones why the boy took his own life. Okari was a class 6 pupil at Nyosia Primary Schoo.
The boy returned home on Tuesday from school at around 4 pm and he didn't show any signs of stress.
According to neighbors, the boy a few days ago had complained that his parents had failed to meet his school needs yet they are earning cash from the family's tea farm.
Francis Okari, the boy's father said the death of his son was mysterious since they had supper together.
"I don't know what happened to my son to take his own life. We all took supper together as a family the last night and he didn't have complains", said Francis.
