The 5-year-old Gabriel Kinyanjui Mandu was rescued by nominated MP Isaac Mwaura today.

Mandu who has albinism was allegedly stolen from his home in Chala, Taveta and transported to Tanzania where he was supposed to be sold.

Speaking after the admission of the minor into the school, Mwaura said that the government has failed to protect the boy from the culprits who have been searching for him day and night.

The parents, Livingstone Mandu and Elizabeth Mbithe, explained how they were forced to protect their third-born son by using bows and arrows day and night as the aliens used to come unexpectedly.

“They could come anytime and on three different occasions, we rescued him from them in the neighbouring country when they were just about to sell him," Mandu explained.

The mother, expressed her gratitude to Mwaura saying he visited them after they were covered in one of the media houses this week and took them with him to his home where he promised to take care of the child’s education in a safer place.

“I never slept even for a single night as my son's life was in danger. We fought the fight until the moment Mwaura came to our rescue and we are very grateful," Mbithe said.

Mwaura is now appealing to the members of the public to support the boy and many others in the society that they may realise their dreams.

The MP is one of the alumni of the Thika School for the blind and has been supporting the school regularly.
